→ Dandelion Tea

01 - 2 tablespoons roasted dandelion root, loose or tea bags
02 - 2 cups water

→ Latte Base

03 - 2 cups oat milk, barista-style preferred
04 - 1 tablespoon maple syrup or alternative sweetener
05 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
06 - Pinch cinnamon, optional

# Method:

01 - Bring 2 cups water to a boil in a saucepan. Add roasted dandelion root or tea bags, reduce heat to maintain a simmer, and cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh strainer if using loose root.
02 - In a separate saucepan, warm oat milk over medium-low heat until just steaming. Whisk in vanilla extract, maple syrup, and cinnamon if desired.
03 - Froth the oat milk mixture using a milk frother or whisk until light and foamy.
04 - Pour the brewed dandelion tea evenly into two mugs. Top each mug with the frothed oat milk, spooning extra foam on top as desired.
05 - Sprinkle with additional cinnamon if preferred. Serve immediately for optimal warmth and flavor.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • You can enjoy this latte late at night without worrying about sleep—dandelion root offers warmth, not jitters.
  • The oat milk foam makes it feel like a treat you’d get from a cafe, but you can whip it up in minutes at home.
02 -
  • If you heat oat milk too hot, it loses its ability to froth beautifully& I learned this after some failed batches.
  • Adding the vanilla before whisking gives a smoother blend and prevents hazy spots in the foam.
03 -
  • If your oat milk isn’t barista-style, add a splash of coconut cream for thicker foam.
  • Let dandelion tea cool a minute before assembling the latte& it prevents curdling and keeps the drink smooth.
