03 - Add oats, chopped onion, grated carrot, minced garlic, tomato paste, soy sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper to the mashed beans. Mix thoroughly.
04 - Stir the thickened flaxseed mixture into the bean mixture until fully combined.
05 - Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes to absorb moisture.
06 - Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
07 - Warm olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
08 - Place patties in the skillet and cook 5 to 6 minutes on each side until crisp and golden brown.
09 - Serve patties on buns with optional lettuce, tomato, avocado, and condiments as desired.
