# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It bakes while you get ready, so breakfast is waiting for you instead of the other way around.
  • You can use whatever berries are on sale or hiding in your freezer without changing a thing.
  • Leftovers reheat beautifully and taste just as good cold straight from the fridge.
  • It's naturally gluten-free and easy to make vegan, so it works for almost everyone at the table.
02 -
  • If you skip rinsing the quinoa, the whole bake will taste soapy and bitter, I learned that the hard way on my second attempt.
  • Frozen berries release more juice than fresh, so don't panic if the mixture looks wet before baking, it all absorbs perfectly.
  • Let it cool for the full 10 minutes or it will fall apart when you try to cut it, patience pays off here.
03 -
  • Use a glass baking dish if you have one, it heats more evenly and you can see when the edges are perfectly golden.
  • If your berries are super tart, add an extra tablespoon of maple syrup to the milk mixture, it makes all the difference.
  • Don't open the oven door in the first 30 minutes or the center won't set properly, just let it do its thing.
